Day 6 #blog12daysxmas

On the sixth day of Christmas, my family and me…
– woke late after a very awful night, Miss 7 up twice with sore legs and Mr 3 up too many times to count
– explored the idea of ‘being in a pit’ at church. And left with the thought “When life stinks, remember you need fertiliser to grow”
– spent a lazy afternoon snoozing and watching DVD’s… still working my way through Season 1 of ‘Once Upon a Time’

A lovely day. See you tomorrow, dear readers!

Day 5 #blog12daysxmas

On the fifth day of Christmas, my family and me…
– went our separate ways, as Hubby took the kids to Kings Beach Pool and I went clothes shopping at Morayfield. New work; new wardrobe!
– after lunch, the kids & I visited our wonderful neighbour, and enjoyed cooling off in her pool; after which
– I gardened; Hubby rented DVDs, then he cooked tea, I put the kids to bed, then he watched Promethus while I caught up on Twilight numbers 3 and 4a.

A lovely day. See you tomorrow, dear reader!

Day 4 #blog12daysxmas

On the fourth day of Christmas, my family and me…
– left Hervey Bay just before 7am, after a night of kid-free packing and cleaning
– stopped for breakfast at Maryborough McDonalds, then another playground break at Alford Park, Gympie

20121228-162508.jpg
– made it home by midday, and surprised Hubby who arrived home from fishing ten minutes later
– did a load a washing, fed the kids lunch, then crashed (for over an hour Woohoo!!!)
– went shopping for more clothes detergent… and
– we’re currently tossing up whether or not fish and chips on the beach is a good idea with these clouds… and I just heard thunder…

Oh! It’s good to be home!

Day 3 #blog12daysxmas

On the third day of Christmas, my family and me…
– had another lazy morning, after the late night last night;
– spent the afternoon at WetSide; serious free fun in Hervey Bay;

20121227-221902.jpg
– returned books to the Fraser Coast Library, in preparation for our departure;
– ate a hearty meal of fish and chips;
– started packing, and cleaning; and
– finished the hard slog that was Book Four of “Game of Thrones”. VERY glad that’s over! Was rather disappointed. After the hype, I was expecting something the equal of Raymond E. Feist, whose writing style I was reminded of, however the lack of a sense of direction leaves me comparing the series with Isobelle Carmody’s Obernewtyn tales. And the final ‘disclaimer’ at the end seemed apologetic and weak.
Oh well. It’s done. As is this blog post. See you on the morrow, dear readers!

Day 2 #blog12daysxmas

This bodes well. Not. Because it’s the third day of Christmas and I’m already a day late. Whoops!
So anyway, on the second day of Christmas, my family and me…
– had a slow start. Well, it had been a latish night from the fantastic Christmas BBQ that we had been to the night before!
– hit the Boxing Day sales. Bought less than I had anticipated; but that’s okay.
– the kids played while I continued soldiering on through the ‘Game of Thrones’ series, Book Three
– enjoyed a lovely evening, dining out at a friends
– started watching the film ‘The Musketeer’ with Hubby, but the sight of Alex from Grey’s Anatomy, long haired and American accenting all over the role of D’Artagnan had me in stitches, so…
– I finished Book Three and was heartily disappointed by the beginning of Book Four in the Game of Thrones series.

Day 1 #blog12daysxmas

On the first day of Christmas, me and my family…
– right on 6am had three cherubs exploring their Christmas stockings on our bed
– stayed in our pyjamas (well, until the doorbell rang unexpectedly LOL)
– played family games… amazingly, with no fights!
– Mr 3 blew bubbles

And it’s not yet 2pm! Later, we’re heading to a Christmas BBQ… I am SO loving holidays!

The end is nigh?

Well, today is the day. Apparently. Personally, I’m of the very, very, very, very firm opinion that I’ll still be here tomorrow…. but then again, I’ve been wrong before! And I’m pretty sure that, should the world *not* end today, I’ll be wrong again. Just not about this! Because if the world doesn’t end today, then I would have been right, right?!!!!
So anyway, I’m planning on spending this ‘final’ day playing with my cherubs at the beach. How about you?
Oh- and if by chance I’m wrong, then goodbye, dear readers! As someone wiser than me wrote, once upon a time. “So long; and thanks for all the fish!”

Sleep and dreams

Last night, Mr 3 had a nightmare, so I got up and calmed him down. It was 12.37am. And it got me wondering, when was the last time that I got up to a cherub in the middle of the night? Do you know, I actually couldn’t remember! I had to think back, and back, several weeks… In fact, I think that it was actually when we were on Fraser Island, over the September holidays. How good is *that*?!!!
It took me a while to get back to sleep though. And when I slept, I dreamt. A rare enough occurrence that I remembered this one!
I was in some kind of medical facility, and my left shoulder was being examined. It had been getting progressively more sore, so for some reason I was getting it checked out. Apparently I had fractured it at an earlier point in time, and by now it was an old injury. ‘Ha!’ I thought to myself, and then the dream ended. Make of that what you will…
I’ve always been interested in dreams. As a person who regularly gets déjà vu, I find the workings of the mind, while the being is unconscious, fascinating. From a pet dog ‘running’, paws moving, while fast asleep, to sleep-walking, I would love to understand more about it all.
Perhaps that’s why I’m enjoying Season 2 of ‘Once upon a Time’, in spite of the extra characters that I didn’t initially agree with; it’s the introduction of the ‘dream state’ where characters can speak across the two realms, that is ride with possibilities!
And speaking of ‘Once Upon a Time’, can I just say a HUGE thank you to all my Facebook friends and twitter peeps who reminded Hubby enough of what I wanted for Christmas this year. I guess he got the hints! Thanks, everyone!!!

Blogging mojo

Okay, I know, I know. I’ve been pretty lax in this last couple of weeks, and haven’t managed to post every Monday / Wednesday / Friday, as I had hoped. Sorry, dear readers! Life kinda got in the way – and perhaps Miss 7 being back, home from school, may have had something to do with that busy-ness… but I’m not sure.

Anyway, I need to get my blogging mojo back again, I think, so I’ll be doing #blog12daysxmas again, here on Hmmm… – so this is an open invitation, to anyone who wants to join me! We start December 25, and blog daily for 2 days, on whatever topic you like. This ‘blogging challenge’ was the impetus I needed, and used, to get Hmmm… started three years ago. Maybe it can be yours too?

Think about it! And have a lovely day! 🙂
