So I spent quite a bit of time yesterday talking to a retired Creative Writing lecturer, discussing strategies, senses (I hadn’t realised that there were 21 of them!) the value of thesauri, dictionaries, and dictionaries of usage, etc etc etc.
I then spent more time in reading through books and articles that he’d given me. And then more time in net-based research on literary agents, what makes a good query letter, and so on and so on and so on.
All this stuff was brilliant. But sometimes it’s hard to then find the time to actually sit down and do the writing of my book!
Just sayin.
