40/52

I’d been saddened over the last couple of years at noticing human encroachment (ie litter and worse) at my favourite writing spot. I’d even given up going there… for months.

Imagine my surprise when this greeted me the other day:

Evidence of humanity’s more disgusting habits: gone!

I like it when things go well.

Have a beautiful week yourself, dear Reader!

Winter has definitely arrived in my little neck-of-the-woods… and if you couldn’t tell by the cold and by my warm fireplace in use Every. Single. Evening, you can tell by the spectacular colours I get to witness each morning!

Here’s wishing you a beauty-filled week yourself, dear Reader!

And 2019 will be…

The year of the photo.  Because I’m pretty  bad at them, and I figure if I’m taking one each week for this blog, I’ll have incentive to improve?

And to start, on this final afternoon of 2018 while I’m waiting for Hubby to return from helping our neighbour so we can keep watching Season 5 of ‘The 100’… I’m posting a photo of my front garden as it currently looks. It’s the part of the property I’ve been working on these last few months. It’s getting there, if I do say so myself. You should have seen it before I started! Although you couldn’t have, because I didn’t take a photo of it… and here we are, back at the main topic again. Cool, huh?

So here’s the photo:

And have a great week, dear Reader!

Weekend-ing away

I like my bed. My bedroom, my ensuite, my kitchen, my laundry, my lounge room, my garden. I miss them when I’m away.

Having said that though, I like not having to cook, and clean. I like the time away from ‘normal’, ‘everyday’ responsibilities, and the gratitude that I feel towards my home comforts when I’ve been away for long enough.

Take these past couple of months, for instance. I spent a week in Sydney/Canberra, on camp with my Year 7 and 8 cohorts. I returned late Friday night, spent Saturday washing and packing, then left very early Sunday morning for another week away, this time with family and friends camping on Fraser Island.

This last weekend was another work-related one: Friday afternoon through to Sunday evening down in Brisbane with six Middle Schoolers who were invited to the State finals from our regional Opti-MINDS challenge. Fast forward a few weekends and I’ll be away again, with Hubby this time, down the Gold Coast.

I enjoy my time away.

But I really, really, REALLY like my own bed. I think I mentioned that?

Have a great week, dear Reader!

Sipping from the saucer #19

I work at a Christian school. The pastor of the church which established our school has a saying: “The LORD has blessed me so much, my cup is overflowing (taken from Psalm 23) and I’m sipping from the saucer.”

I like the visual, so I’m using it here, in this month-long blogging challenge focusing on the blessings God has poured out on me.

Today, blessing #19.

Have I mentioned it’s been COLD???

(And regular Readers of this blog may remember that I absolutely HATE cold, with a capital EVERYTHING)

so these are the blessings I’m counting today:

my fireplace 🙂

and:

my electric blanket 😀 😀 😀

Stay warm, everybody! And be blessed today!

Sipping from the saucer #10

I work at a Christian school. The pastor of the church which established our school has a saying: “The LORD has blessed me so much, my cup is overflowing (taken from Psalm 23) and I’m sipping from the saucer.”

I like the visual, so I’m using it here, in this month-long blogging challenge focusing on the blessings God has poured out on me.

Today: blessing #10.

As part of the ‘new membership’ package at my new gym, I was offered a free ‘create a workout program’ session with the Head Personal Trainer. I felt pretty bad, because the Head Personal Trainer then had to arrive at his gym at stupid o’clock, because I normally work out from 4.30-5.15am. I apologised in advance, and we set the appointment for 4.45 this morning.

Fortunately, last night I mentioned this appointment to my husband, who woke me at 4.15am with ‘didn’t you need to be going about now?’
I jumped up, was dressed and out of the door in 2 minutes, and arrived at 4.35… but HPT was already there. Whoops!!

Never mind. He put me through my paces; and my left tricep is currently screaming, thank you very much, so I guess that’s all fair 😛

Blessing number 10? A thoughtful husband, without whom I would have been even more embarrassed than I already was.

Have a great day, dear Reader! Be blessed today!

Sipping from the saucer #9

I work at a Christian school. The pastor of the church which established our school has a saying: “The LORD has blessed me so much, my cup is overflowing (taken from Psalm 23) and I’m sipping from the saucer.”

I like the visual, so I’m using it here, in this month-long blogging challenge focusing on the blessings God has poured out on me.

Today: blessing #9.

And seeing as yesterday’s post, blessing #8 (published earlier today; sorry about that!) was an image, I thought I’d do likewise today. Because today I want to talk about my new gym.

I joined on the 31st of May, and had my first session on June 1st. And I’ve been going regularly (4 to 6 days per week, depending on other commitments) since then.

And I’m loving it! This was what it looked like this morning…

no other people. And because no-one was there to listen to – or even program – the centre-wide sound system, there was no other noise, either… exactly how I like my workouts 🙂

I unlocked the place. I turned on lights and equipment. I turned off equipment, and lights, and then locked up when I left.

It was just about the workout. And that’s perfect for me.

What a blessing, hey?

Here’s wishing you (again!) a blessed day today, dear Reader!

Today: blessing #8… and it’s the reason why this post is late! Check it out:

Not one, not two, but FIVE tickets to SeaWorld, courtesy Hubby’s work and his colleagues. So that’s where we were yesterday – and a BRILLIANT day was had by all 🙂

Here’s wishing you a blessed day too, dear Reader!
